New Orleans Pelicans New Court Design
The New Orleans Pelicans court is designed in response to the NBA in-season tournament inauguration this season. The court will showcase the team's color.
The Pelicans are a professional basketball club based in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. They compete in the NBA as the Western Conference's Southwest Division member.
Originally referred to as the New Orleans Hornets, the Pelicans are in their 22nd season in the association and have recorded one division title and two playoff series victories.
With the initiation of the first NBA in-season tournament on November 3, all teams are scheduled to play four group plays during the regular season. Two games will be played at home, while two will be featured on-road.
NBA in-season tournament has mandated every team to play home in-season games at their alternate court. The Pelicans will feature a purple-colored, bold, and distinctive design for their new court.
Playing for the first time in history at their alternate court, the Pelicans are the first team ever in the NBA to play on a fully painted court with no woodgrain details.
The design is made in such a way that fans throughout the globe can imply when a game carries an NBA in-season tournament. The court's flashy and bold design showcases the team's color.
The new design will feature a purple color throughout the court with a green texture running perpendicular to the center line from one hoop to another. The texture's width is equal to the distance between the lane lines.
The Pelicans will play their in-season home games against the Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks on this court on November 17 and 14, respectively.
