Rose had been awarded with a scholarship to play for the University of Memphis. Coach John Calipari was in charge at that time. During his time with the team, Memphis was seeded No. 1 in the South Region and Rose's dedication to defense earned him high praise.
The 35-year-old player was selected in the first overall in the 2008 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls. He played in the Orlando Pro Summer League until he was forced out by tendinitis.
