Court Design For Clippers In Season Tournament
The Los Angeles Clippers revealed their Mardi Gras court design for the upcoming NBA tournament. The logo is noticeably displayed in the middle of the court.
The design is primarily purple without the visible natural wood grain color. The center of the court is purple from end to end, with a gold fleur-de-lis on top.
The court is entirely painted with no wood grain details. This results in a more consistent and modern appearance. A 16 feet lane from end to end in a contrasting wash of color is a new feature for the In-Season Tournament.
This lane is intended to make the playing surface more dynamic and exciting. Another new feature for the In Season Tournament is the NBA championship outline in the lanes.
In the middle of the court, there is also a unique Clippers-themed wordmark and logo. An L.A.-based contemporary artist and Clippers season ticket holder Jonas Wood, created the wordmark.
The design "i" honors classic Clipper wordmarks and features Wood's signature basketball illustration seamlessly combined with the Clipper's secondary logo.
These outlines are intended to add a visual element to the court while also assisting players in tracking their positioning.
The NBA In-Season Tournament will take place from November 3 to December 9, 2023. The 32 teams will be divided into eight groups of four, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the single-elimination knockout stage.
The semifinals and finals of the tournament will be held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
