Washington Wizards TV and Radio Announcers 2023

Washington Wizards TV announcers are Chris Miller and Drew Gooden. Miller joined the Wizards in 2022 replacing Justin Kutcher for play-by-play voice.

The Wizards are one of the professional NBA teams based in Washington D.C. since 1961 and is a member of the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference.

The TV channel NBC Sports Washington is responsible for calling up all the Wizards NBA games. 

Before having Miller as the announcer, Kutcher did the announcing duties from 2019 to 2022 but was replaced on 29th April following his departure.

He announced his departure from the NBCS Washington duties on his official Twitter handle.

Miller began his first season as an announcer alongside his partner and a color analyst Gooden with both will continue to call up the games for the team.

Chris Miller is the Wizards TV announcer alongside his partner Drew Gooden who is also a color analyst.

They will be supported by the services of Meghan McPeak as the sideline reporter, calling off games from courtside.

Miller replaced Justin Kutcher as the Wizards play by play announcer on 29th April 2022. 

He was announced to be the team's voice for the upcoming 2023-2024 season as NBC announced. 

Chris previously served as an analyst, sideline reporter, and pre-and post-game show host after joining the network in 2007.

During his previous tenure with the team, he also contributed to the network's live game coverage of Wizards as a host for Wizards Pregame Live and Post-game Live. 

Miller also led shows like Baltimore Ravens game-day shows, Ravens Kickoff, and Ravens Post-game Live.

He was among the final candidates to continue for the play-by-play position after Steve Buckhantz's contract was not renewed in 2019 which later went to Kutcher. 

Miller used to work as a college baseball sideline reporter for ESPN and College Sports Television and also the CBS Network before joining the Wizards.

Drew Gooden

Drew Gooden is another play-by-play announcer and an analyst for NBC Sports Washington.

Gooden is a former professional basketball player and was a power forward in the NBA. He played there for 14 seasons earning NBA All-Rookie First team honors with the Grizzlies.

Before getting drafted into the NBA in 2002, he played for the Kansas College in NCAA D1 Men's Basketball, where he won the Big 12 Conference in 1998 and was awarded NABC Player of the Year in 2002.

In his NCAA honors, Kansas retired his No. 0 Jersey in 2003 during the home game against Kansas State in halftime.

After declaring his career as a player in 2016, he worked in handling Basketball operations before joining NBCS Washington in November 2017 and has been there since then.

The Oakland native now works alongside Chris Muller and in his 6th year of service with the team will provide voices for the Wizards NBA games in the 2023-2024 season.

Washington Wizards announcers for Radio are Dave Johnson, Bryan Albin and Glenn Consor. You can listen to them on Wizards Radio 24/7.

The Wizards Radio 24/7 provides all the things related to the Washington Wizards regarding news, interviews, pregame and postgame shows, and the never-ending radio entertainment 

The two broadcasters have been serving as the voices for the radio for the last 15 years including Bryan Albin who is the host of the Wizards radio pre-game show.

Dave Johnson will be in his 27th consecutive season as the Wizard's voice on the Radio Network. 

He has brought Wizards back to life on the radio with his signature calls, and colorful detailed descriptions alongside his partner Consor.

In his 27-year career as a radio broadcaster, Johnson has won multiple individual achievements including the Best Sportscaster award in Washington DC and the Edward R. Murrow award for Best Writing.

Alongside being an announcer, Dave also serves as the Wizard's Senior Director Broadcasting for radio and manages the nine-station network of Radio 24/7.

His other career highlights include winning the Emmy Award for his work as the extensive play-by-play announcer of college football, college basketball, and lacrosse. 

Besides his basketball duties, Johnson also served as the broadcaster for soccer on television for over 25 years for ESPN and Fox Sports. He also provided a voice in the 2006 FIFA World Cup for 20 matches including the Italy Vs France final in Berlin.

Bryan Albin

Bryan Albin has been working as a play-by-play announcer for the Wizards since 2019 but has a decade of experience in the sports media industry.

Before working as an announcer, he was a lead producer and studio host since 2014 and also the lead content creator for Wizards Radio 24/7.

He first debuted with the student radio station WRGW as a play-by-play and color commentator.

In 2021, Albin accomplished his Master's in Sports Management and Analytics from American University and later worked in multiple positions at WTOP-FM in Washington D.C. including roles like sports anchor, sports and news producer, and news operation assistant.

Now, he works for the Wizards radio broadcasting team with Johnson and Consor.

Glenn Consor

Consor will be in his 17th season as the color analyst and the play-by-play announcer alongside Johnson.

He is an Emmy award-winning person who brings his over almost two decades of experience into the radio booth. 

Though it is his 17th season as an analyst for the show he has been covering the Wizards for almost more than 20 years for various media outlets.

Before joining the broadcasting team, he also worked as a scout for the Wizards from 1990-1995. 

Besides Wizards, he used to work as an analyst for other broadcasting channels like NBA TV, Home Team Sports, and ESPN Regional College basketball broadcasting covering NCAA tournaments.

Reporters and Analysts

Washington Wizards courtside reporter is Meghan McPeak who has been calling games since 2018.

McPeak is a Canadian basketball play-by-play broadcaster and a sideline reporter for the Wizards. They hired her to call games in 2018 for the G-League affiliate team, the Capital City Go-Go.

She also previously called games for the Washington Mystics in the WNBA. After being hired by the team, Meghan became the first female broadcaster to call an NBA game in over 30 years time period when she called a preseason game in October 2018.

In 2022, she joined CBS Sports as a play-by-play announcer for college football calling UConn games. 

As of 2023, she has been calling games as a reporter for the Wizards in the NBA and as an announcer for CBS Sports in NCAA football for UConn.

She is also working as an On-Air talent for the Monumental Sports Network.
