Chris Boucher is the only Canadian Player on the Toronto Raptors in the 2023-2024 season. He grew up in the Montreal-Nord neighborhood in Canada.

The Toronto Raptors are the only Canadian professional basketball team in the National Basketball Association ( NBA) based in Toronto. They are members of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. 

It was founded in 1995 as a part of the NBA's expansion in Canada along with the Vancouver Grizzlies. 

As of the 2023-2024 season, almost 29 players will be representing Canada in the NBA including Delano Banton, and Khem Birch who were former Raptors players and now are part of the Celtics and Spurs.

Other Canadian NBA players include Oshae Brissett, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Dillon Brooks, and Brandon Clarke. 

Chris Boucher - Power Forward/Center

Chris Boucher remains the only Canadian player on the team for this upcoming season as the previous two players Kirch and Banton left the team to join the Spurs and Celtics for this season.

He is a 6'9" forward-center player for the Raptors with six years of NBA experience. 

He debuted in 2017 after being undrafted with the Golden State Warriors but later joined Raptors in 2018. 

In his first season as a Raptors, he played 28 games where he earned 3.3 points per game with .1 assist, .2 steals, and a .867 free throw percentage.

He had his best 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons as he won his first NBA title in 2019-2020 defeating the Golden State Warriors in the finals and becoming the one and only Canadian player with the NBA's lone Canadian franchise.

On 10th November 2019, he held his career-high points in a game scoring 15 against the Lakers followed by another career high of 25 points on 10th August 2020 against Milwaukee Bucks.

On 25th November 2020, he re-signed with the Raptors for a two-year contract worth $13.5 million.

In his 60 games, he averaged 13.6 points per game with 6.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 6 steals, and a .514 field goal percentage. 

He has also scored a career-high 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks against Hawks on 6th February 2021.

He has his career-high points in a game with 38 against the Bulls including 19 rebounds and one assists on 8th April 2021.

On 30th June 2022, he signed a three-year extension with the Raptors keeping him till 2025, worth $35.25 million.

Steve Nash

Steve Nash is one of the legendary Canadian former NBA players and current Canada's head coach. He is known as the greatest of all time in NBA history.

He played 18 full seasons in the NBA and was a 2 times NBA MVP award while he was with the Phoenix Suns.

Nash was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the 1996 draft as the 15th pick of the event but was traded to the Dallas Mavericks later in 1998.

During his time with the Mavericks, he was voted to his first All-Star game and also earned his first All-NBA selection, and also led the team to their Western Conference finals.

Later after returning to the Suns in the 2004-05 season, he led the Suns to their Western Conference finals and won the league's MVP award. 

He is widely regarded as one of the greatest point guards of all time and is ranked as one of the top players in NBA league history in 3-point shooting, free throw, total assists, and assists per game.

Rick Fox

Rick Fox is a former Canadian basketball player who played in the NBA for the Boston Celtics and LA Lakers.

He was drafted in 1991 as the 24th overall pick in the first round by the Boston Celtics. He stayed in the NBA for 13 seasons playing as a small forward.

He became the first rookie starter on opening night since Larry Bird in 1979. He became the team's first-choice small forward in the 1995-96 season following his dominant performance.

In 1996-97, he recorded a career-high of 15.4 points per game and 2.2 steals a game and made 101 three-point field goals.

While he was with the Lakers, he won the NBA title three times consecutively from 1999 to 2002.

Fox made a total of 930 appearances with a .450 field goal percentage, a .349 3-pointer percentage, and .770 free throws made with 9.6 points per game.

After he retired, he joined the movie industry where his acting credits included roles in Oz, He Got Game, Ugly Betty, The Big Bang Theory, Greenleaf, and All Rise.

Bill Wennington

Bill Wennington is a former Canadian basketball player and a 3-time winner of the NBA Championships with the Chicago Bulls.

He is a center player who represented Canada in the 1984 Olympics and the 1983 World University Games where the team secured a gold medal.

Wennington was selected by the Mavericks in the 1985 first round as the 16th overall pick. He spent almost 15 years in the NBA and played for teams like the Mavericks, Sacramento Kings, and Chicago Bulls.

Bill has 4.6 points per game, 3.0 rebounds, and 0.6 assists as an NBA player. Later he joined Bulls as a part of its radio broadcasting team. 

He was also inducted into the Canadian Basketball Hall of Fame in 2005.

Magloire was drafted as the 19th overall pick in the 2000 draft event by the Charlotte Hornets. He played NBA for 12 seasons as a center player. 

He was voted into NBA All-Star game in 2004 becoming the second Canadian All-Star in NBA history.

He played for a total of 8 teams in his playing career till 2012. He is now working as a basketball development consultant and community ambassador for the Toronto Raptors
